En esta temporada, cuando los vientos soplan, se registra un mayor incremento en la producción de energía renovable, en especial la eólica, los cuatro parques ubicados en el istmo de Rivas aportan el 26% de la energía que consumimos, así lo explicó el Cro. Salvador Mansell Castrillo, del Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MEM) y de ENATREL, superando a fuentes históricas como la hidroeléctrica que por años han brindado estabilidad al sistema, “el día de hoy incluso llegamos a tener un 75% de generación renovable, al contrario del 2006, cuando ese porcentaje era térmico; con los estudios que hemos realizado sabemos que tenemos capacidad de generar más de 1000 MW sólo de eólico”.
A esta generación se suma la biomasa, que ha alcanzado el segundo lugar y le siguen las fotovoltaicas, que operan fuera de la red como el sistema aislado de San Juan de Nicaragua y a futuro la planta de 3 MW de Corn Island, los cuales significan un aporte significativo al cambio de la matriz de generación.
En el tema de la electrificación, del 28 de febrero al 06 de marzo se llevó el suministro básico a 10 comunidades de Estelí, Nueva Segovia, Madriz y la Costa Caribe Norte, lo que representó una inversión de C$ 34.5 millones, para atender a 3,089 pobladores que habitan en 591 viviendas. En el mes de febrero se atendió con el servicio a 28 comunidades y en marzo serán 38.
“Para finales de este mes tenemos aproximadamente US$ 14 millones que vamos a licitar, 3 licitaciones, una para internet, se colocarán torres en los municipios para llevar ese servicio, enmarcado en el Programa Banda Ancha; se aumentará la capacidad en subestaciones eléctricas con la instalación de transformadores de potencia, y mano de obra para seguir electrificando más comunidades”, detalló el Cro. Mansell, a la vez recalcó que se está cumpliendo con la ejecución del Plan Anual de Inversiones (US$ 120 millones en 2019).
Avanzan las obras del Sistema Nacional de Transmisión (SNT), como la ampliación de la Subestación Boaco, la cual una vez entre en servicio brindará confiabilidad al suministro eléctrico que reciben en Chontales, Río San Juan y la Costa Caribe Sur, “Boaco se convertirá en una de las subestaciones más importantes del Sistema, estamos instalando un autotransformador y un equipo de compensación reactiva, se conectará en 230 kV con la Subestación Terrabona y en un futuro con la Subestación Mulukukú, para recibir la energía de los proyectos renovables”.
En alumbrado público a la fecha se han colocado 8,604 luminarias led en diferentes municipios del país; en la semana pasada fueron 1,161 en Managua, Masaya, Estelí, Jinotega y Nueva Segovia, priorizando los puntos de mayor concurrencia ciudadana y entradas municipales.
